Peripheral Blood Sample Only (Lavender Top Tube)
Modified May-Grünwald & Giemsa Stain Tests (Special Stains) – This test includes a thin and thick blood film preparation analyzed by both Giemsa and a Modified May-Grünwald staining method. Putative microbes that are observed are imaged and reported.
Fluorescent DNA Stain Test (Advanced Stain) – This test is a wet mount preparation of blood with a fluorescent DNA dye. Putative microbes or other suspicious DNA positive structures that are observed are imaged and reported.
Fungal Stain Test (Mosaic Stain) – This test is a wet mount preparation of blood with a fluorescent DNA dye and a fluorescent dye specific for fungi. Putative microbes, including fungi, that are observed are imaged and reported.
